International Tobacco Control Policy Evaluation Project (ITC Project) - Plain Packaging Reports

The International Tobacco Control Policy Evaluation Project (the ITC Project) is an international cohort study of tobacco use measuring the psychosocial and behavioural impact of key national level policies of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). The ITC Project is a collaborative effort with international health organizations and policymakers in 29 countries so far conducting prospective cohort surveys to assess the impact and identify the determinants of effective tobacco control policies.

Service

Graphic Design

Task:

The ITC Project’s research on tobacco plain packaging has shown that cigarette packs are less appealing and smokers dislike their packs. We created the design for a series of reports to highlight the impact of plain packaging in order to make each report unique but ensure consistency in style, branding, and design.

Communication idea:

With focus on supporting the dissemination of evidence on the positive impacts of plain packaging regulations globally, we designed the series of reports showing the removal of branding on tobacco product packaging and a connection to the implications of tobacco use and its associated health risks.

Implementation:
  • Design a series of 16-page reports for various countries

  • Highlight the visual representation of plain packaging supported by research findings through graphs and charts
